One month on and 11lbs lighter!




Hi everyone,

Well this is me, after 1 month (and 3 proper weigh ins) at Weight Watchers and 11lbs lighter - woo hoo!!

I'm not sure that it is a great photo to show any loss as I think the angle is wrong! but I want to put a new picture on each month to show how I am doing. I have lost 11lbs now and have done it with losing 4lbs, 3lbs and then 4lbs again. I am hoping for a 3lb loss this week to make a stone in a month.

I have also been taking my measurements and have lost 11 inches since joining WW. I have taken 9 measurements and have measured the right hand side (hope the left is the same but I dont feel lopsided?!). Just before I joined WW on the 28th July and they were:

Bust: 39.5"
Right upper arm: 16.5"
Waist (just above belly button): 44"
Hips: 51.5"
Circumference of Bum! (at the top of my legs): 56.5"
Right Thigh: 36"
Right Knee: 21.5"
Right Calf: 21"
Right Ankle: 10.75"
Weight: 21st 3lbs
Dress size: Top 20, Bottom, 22


Now they are as follows:

Bust: 37" (lost 2.5)
Right upper arm: 16" (lost 0.5)
Waist (just above belly button): 42" (lost 2)
Hips: 50" (lost 1.5)
Circumference of Bum! (at the top of my legs): 55" (lost 1.5)
Right Thigh: 35" (lost 1)
Right Knee: 20" (lost 1.5)
Right Calf: 20.5" (lost 0.5)
Right Ankle: 10.75" (same)
Weight: 20st 6lbs (lost 11lbs)
Dress size: Top 18, Bottom, 20 (down 1 size on both :0)


I have my gym meeting for this week too as it is a month since I had my last tests, I hope my fitness levels have improved too and I will let you know how I get on.

Before Picture....



Well I had a lovely birthday Saturday, the film I went to see with hubby was fantastic - Inception with Leonardo Di Caprio. It was really interesting and thought provoking.

Yesterday I went to the gym and am really aching now! I did my hour workout and did 30minutes on the weights and 30 minutes cardio work. I am going to do it again tommorow evening and then Thursday evening. My weigh in day is Saturday at home and I hope I do well this week. I have attached a 'before' picture of me at my heaviest of 21 stone at the beginning of July and I will update with a new picture each month.

Welcome to my new blog :0)

Hi everyone,

Thank you for visiting my blog, I hope it will be informative and helpful and that you enjoy reading it.

Well I have been doing alot of reflecting lately, it my birthday today (July 24th) and I am 34. I met my hubby when I was 16 and we have always been very happy, however I have grown more and more broody and we really want to start a family. I know that at the moment I am far too unhealthy to carry a baby and HAVE to do something about it. So I joined my local gym last night and had an induction and some tests done and the results were pretty scary. I thought I would share with you all what they were - they are based on my age and also my height of 5' 10" and my weight of 21 stone (on the gym scales). I plan to have them done monthly to see how I am progressing:

Blood pressure: 150/70 (this is okay but I should aim to reduce it to 120/80)
Resting Heart Rate: 72 (the average is 70-80 and the lower the better)
VO 2 (my level of Fitness): 20 (this is very low and the average for me should be 33)
Body Fat: 50.5% (21-33% is the ideal range)
Visceral Fat (the fat around your major organs): 9 (this should be between 1-10 so I am doing okay as I am a pear shape!)
Skeletal Muscle (the muscle around your skeleton): 22.6% (Average female is 28%)

I was fascinated by these as I had never even heard of Skeletal Muscle or the VO 2, but they were really good to know and I aim to improve them all significantly. I had a plan written for me as well and it is 30 minutes of cardio work which will be the starting off with 5 minutes on the cross trainer and rowing machine and 10 minutes each on the bike and treadmill. Then 30 minutes of weight machines and I personally want to add in 50 sit ups as I know how effective they have been in the past for me. I will do them in 2 lots though, not all at once!! I will be doing this 3x a week for an hour each time.

Well I am off out for lunch now and then to the cinema for my birthday but will post regular updates about how I am doing and my weight loss.
